Samsung shows no signs of stopping when it comes to pushing everything they come up with to the market, this is not exception.

We’ve recently posted some details regarding Samsung’s new tablet and this time around we bring you some pictures of said device. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.5 posed for some pictures and it looks really similar to Galaxy TabPRO/NotePRO 10.1 tablets they launched earlier this year, Samsung decided to go back to OLED displays, at least in this case. In comparison to Galaxy TabPRO and NotePRO’s LCD panel this device is going to feature an AMOLED panel, 2560×1600 in resolution.

Judging by the pictures, Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is going to have a textured back, similar to the one on Samsung Galaxy S5. Front side of the device also follows the same pattern as previous devices along with the hardware button which looks the same as the one on previous tablet devices. In other specifications the tablet will come with an octa-core Exynos 5420 CPU with four 1.9GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores, usual array of sensors, IR blaster, Samsung’s Magazine UX and Android 4.4 KItKat. You can find more details in a linked posted above.

Samsung axes Mobile Design lead in wake of Galaxy S5

Samsung have just shaken up the design department at the company by replacing the head of mobile design amongst criticism of the Galaxy S5 design.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 was somewhat underwhelming and a ‘more of the same’ release by Samsung, much to the disappointment of consumers and in a market full of premium handsets, the Galaxy S5 stood out for its design.

The man responsible for the Galaxy S5 design, Chang Dong-hoon will be replaced by vice president for mobile design Lee Min-hyouk.

“The realignment will enable Chang to focus more on his role as head of the Design Strategy Team, the company’s corporate design center which is responsible for long-term design strategy across all of Samsung’s businesses, including Mobile Communications.”

Chang will continue to lead Samsung’s design center which overseas its overall design strategy, but perhaps the shakeup will mean we’ll see something different from Samsung for their Galaxy S6.

Samsung Galaxy S5 may not have OIS camera due to supply constraints

We’ve heard off-and-on rumors about when Samsung will put OIS (optical image stabilization) cameras in their smartphones, since some OEMs like LG do use OIS chips but Samsung doesn’t. We’ve also heard that Samsung may be using an OIS-enabled camera on their next flagship Galaxy S phone, but the latest rumor says that may not be the case. In fact, it may not even be up to Samsung.

According to ETNews, Samsung wants to put OIS cameras in their smartphones, but there are no supply partners that would be able to manufacturer enough components to meet Samsung’s ridiculous demand. The Note 3 has already shipped 5 million units, and that’s not counting what the Galaxy S 4 is still doing now that the holiday season is rolling in. That’s just another day for Samsung, but for many component manufacturers, that’s simply too many devices to handle. For Samsung, it’s obviously a good problem to have when supply exceeds demand, but it’s a tricky situation considering many flagship phones next year likely will sport OIS cameras.

Samsung has begun looking into making their own OIS cameras in-house to avoid manufacturing delays from partners, but there’s no word on if that will pan out in time for the Galaxy S5 launch next year. We’ve still got plenty of time for the rumor mill to keep us updated, though.

Samsung Galaxy S5 could employ 16MP Sony camera sensor

Samsung may call upon Sony for the camera sensor in the Galaxy S5 or other smartphones, according to chatter stemming from an ETNews report. Allegedly, Samsung is looking to place a 16-megapixel CMOS sensor in the next generation of devices and said unit could come from Sony. Also a possibility is a sensor from System LSI, a division of Samsung.

It is reported that Sony is currently promoting to conclude an exclusive distributorship contract for 16 million pixel CIS for a set period of time with Samsung Electronics’ Wireless Business Division. Sony, in fact, is focusing solely on Samsung Electronics’ smartphones for its CIS business.

Already working on mass production of an 8-megapixel sensor with Isocell technology, System LSI’s camera aims to prevent light bleeding, glare, and noise in low light conditions. Sony, for its part, happens to be the largest sensor maker in the world and knows a thing or two about camera tech.

Whatever the case, the next-gen Samsung Galaxy models are expected to be better than ever when it comes to high quality photos.
