Sprint’s HTC One Max receiving Sense 6 software update

sprint_htc_one_max_sense_6_update_screenshot

Sprint customers, fire up your HTC One Max! The Sprint variant of HTC’s phablet is starting to receive a software update that brings all of the goodies from Sense 6, the skin that shipped with the HTC One (M8). The update is just over 537MB, so make sure you have enough storage.

On Twitter, @LlabTooFer notes that the update gives the One Max everything that the One (M8) has with the exception of Motion Launch. For those of you unaware, Motion Launch allows you to wake and launch certain applications without hitting the power button by simply tapping the display.

Have you gotten the update? If so, let us know in the comments how it feels.

HTC One Max battery test

HTC One Max is powered by a massive 3,300mAh battery that in theory should give you enough juice for 24 days of standby or a whole day of 3G talks. A rating of 81 hours means that the HTC One Max will last almost three and a half days if you used it for one […]

HTC One Max pricing leaks for international and Chinese versions

The unlocked international version of the HTC One Max is expected to cost RMB 5,088 ($833 US), according to a Chinese source. Further, a Chinese model will sell for RMB 5,488 ($899 US) and will be supported by China Unicom, China Telecom and China Mobile. Reportedly, the China Telecom model will be a dual-SIM handset while China Mobile’s supports TD-LTE.

HTC China is also slated to carry the HTC One Max as part of a bundle that includes HTC Mini phone and Bluetooth headset; pricing here is expected to be RMB 5,998 ($982 US).

Indeed, these are some premium price points and considerably higher than the typical customer might be willing to be spend. We’re anxious to see what HTC cooks up for the U.S. market and whether or not they keep themselves out of reach for the average buyer. Thus far, Sprint and Verizon are the only two to announce upcoming support for the HTC One Max.

HTC One Max rumored with October 15 debut

With a slew of leaked photos and rumors coming over the last few weeks, the HTC One Max is one of those devices we’re ready to see announced. If for no other reason, we’ll be glad to stop seeing incessant pictures of the same thing over and over. Digressing, the HTC One Max finally looks to be lined up for an October 15 debut. Recent photos and details surfacing on Weibo have the plus-sized phone as the middle of the month, maybe even one day after the next-gen Nexus.

Here’s hoping that we’ve only got about two weeks left until the phone is announced.

Leak suggests T6 confirmed to be the HTC One Max [Update: confirmed for Sprint]

htc_one_max_name_confirmation_tweet

This seems like news of the obvious, but Twitter tipster @evleaks posted today “confirmation” that HTC’s device named the T6 will be marketed as the HTC One Max. The connection between the HTC One Max and the T6 was first discovered several months ago and since then has become the common-sense assumption of most. Of course, in announcing the confirmation of the name, @evleaks did not provide a link or any source with HTC. @evleaks does tend to be a reliable source of leaks and tips.

The HTC One Max is expected to be a top-tier device sporting a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, an UltraPixel camera, a 5.9-inch 1080p screen, and will run HTC Sense 5.5 atop Android 4.3.

Update: @evleaks sent out another Tweet telling us that the “HTC One max is Sprint-bound.”

Rumors suggest the HTC One Max will feature a 5.9-inch display, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 3200mAh battery, and very current versions of Android and HTC Sense. We’ve heard rumors that HTC will introduce the big-screen HTC One at IFA in Berlin next month, something the source of the photos also echoes.
