Sensors, sensors and more sensors…

Amazon’s upcoming smartphone has seemingly hundreds of rumors surrounding its release and what the device itself will be like, and now we’re getting some more information.

Amazon has apparently been working with Asian compact camera module manufacturers to allow for 3D gesture and eye tracking input on their new smartphone. Apparently, HTC will be working on the device with Amazon, and it’s slated for a second quarter release in 2014.

Apparently, the device will feature six compact camera modules, and four of the six will be VGA sensors placed at each corner of the device. The two other camera modules will be for the 13MP rear shooter and a 2MP front camera.

The device, currently codenamed “Mr. Smith,” will feature a 4.7-inch display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. Amazon is apparently working on an entry-level device as well as this high end phone.
